Abstract

|
|
Two cases of tubal pregnancy associated with the insertion of intrauterine contraceptive device(Lippe`s loop)are reported with a brief review of the literature. The definite mechanism by which these devices act to prevent pregnancy is still not entirely understood. The relative frequency of tubal pregnancy, if pregnancy does occur in the presence of the IUD, is higher than in the absence of the device.
